Christmas in August by happypat

Christmas in August

I went to our local garden centre for some flowers for my 90 year old friend who had a hysterectomy on Monday. As usual they were putting up the Christmas decorations.
A notice up saying they are getting them out a little earlier so we can all take longer to browse!
I shan’t be!

Three good things:
1. Lydia went for an interview today & she has been offered the job.
2. We lost her cat today. We hunted all over the house but thought he might have escaped outside which would have been disaster as he’s not used to going out. We found him under the TV cupboard...didn’t realise it had such a gap under the back of it!
3. We had a phone call from our builder which really worried us ....just after we found the cat a couple drive up to look at our house thinking it was still for sale. Turned out he was a building surveyor... he came in & looked at our house details & put our minds at rest re a crack in the wall.....a real angels just when we needed them! He drew us diagrams too.
What an interesting couple they were too!
Christmas is coming much too early in shops and garden centres. And it can't be the same as other years.

@beryl @julzmaioro Oh my mouth was so dry when we found him...must have been missing a good half hour...if he had got out I have no idea what he would have done...he’s an inside cat mostly & we would never have got him back! It’s been a stressful afternoon but all ok now!

Oh no, Christmas in August, it smacks of desperation to me. Must be difficult for shopkeepers these days.

I am thinking of that old song.....Slade? Wizard? "Oh I wish it could be Christmas everyday....."
And fantastic to be reassured by your passing angel! Great timing.

Thank goodness he was found ok. Great to have some free advice from a building surveyor. Don't even ask me what I think about Christmas decorations in August!!
