Brew time

Coffee stops are very popular when you’re out on your exercise time. That’s the one of the things we miss, coffee with friends. Have to have it in the hoof of course, not allowed to sit down.

Three good things:
1. The shed man came...it could be a Rolls Royce job if we allowed it to run away with money! We want a good job but the timber he brought as an example was hardwood & very thick....it’s only a shed!
2. I have had my feet done today!
3. New grips for my walking boots arrived today!
I agree about coffee time being important these days Pat. I like the look of the church building next door too, but notice that it's now a restaurant.

I REALLY miss a cosy coffee shop and friends and weather like we had today didn’t even allow a take away on our own. We spent a lot of money on a Crane National Trust shed in the summer but it’s making Nigel very happy!

Nicely captured scene of the queue for coffee

Always nice to have a sit and chat with friends so I would miss that aswell..
Does sound like a flash shed.. guess you will meet i the middle.. Harry's Fergie needs a cosy shed..

I like the distinctive architecture of the building next door.

@judithg I remember your beautiful shed going up....ours won’t look as nice as yours but big enough hold a tractor, trailer, firewood, lawn mowers & tools so a fair size.

@busylady @quietpurplehaze Yes that old church is impressive isn’t it? Closed now of course.
January 16th, 2021
@julzmaioro Well yes it is rather important to him but he loves his man shed & I love it too as it gets him out of the house! We will meet in the middle I’m sure!

I also meeting with my friend for coffee an of course a natter so good when we can meet up again As for the shed I am sure you need a substantial shed, pleasing to the eye but not over the top. It sounds as if the tradesman is trying it on !! .

Bep
Nice street view. The name od the church/restaurant intrigues me...
January 16th, 2021
@beryl Well he said he would do whatever we wanted Beryl but Harry made much if having a good quality well made one on the phone so he came out to look with very thick hardwood planks....he’s going to do estimates!
January 16th, 2021
@gijsje It’s an Indian Restaurant Bep.
January 16th, 2021
@happypat ha ha !,
January 16th, 2021
@happypat ah yes - we couldn’t have run to a Crane in that size!
January 16th, 2021
That old church building there being closed would be freezing inside. Your Brew cafe looks warm and its good to see other people in this time of restraint!
January 16th, 2021
Yeah Jane and I always road together to do our walks if we went to the beach and now we meet at the beach in seperate cars. Can't wait to be able to ride together.
January 16th, 2021
We can sit down, coffee shops and restaurants are at 50% occupancy. Almost every place has set up some tables and chairs outside. People like to sit outside even if it’s cool out. My what times. I look forward to your shed photos!

A delightful shot, Pat. I think we all miss coffee shop get togethers with friends.
Good luck with final design plans for your shed. I'm with you...nice, but not palatial. It's a shed.

Lots of action at the brew store :)

So many people so close together! How covid time has changed my perspective
January 17th, 2021
Great scene.

@peggysirk Exactly Peggy!

@louannwarren Those were our rules a few months ago Lou Ann but we are in a sort of lock down now. Only take always allowed but no sitting down to enjoy anywhere even in parks, all the benches are taped off. Allowed out for essential shopping, exercise & medical reasons, that why we were in Lancaster for Harry’s ears.
Romping on here with vaccines though, well over 3 & a half million done now.

@maggiemae I would hope they have a bit of heating on maggie, not good for buildings not the be kept aired but times & money are hard so it could be very cold. The Brew cafe does look warm but only allowed one inside at a time so queuing outside...not so good in the winter!
January 17th, 2021
@joansmor me too Joan, they aren’t keen for us to go in the car for exercise even Joan....we have to stay local! Covid marshals are about & they are checking up!
January 17th, 2021
@pdulis Take away coffee shops are doing quite well I think.
January 17th, 2021
@jgpittenger Hasn’t it just Jane...as I turned the corner into Penny Street I did stop a minute & think but it actually looks a lot busier than it was......Marks & Spencer’s brings them out!
January 17th, 2021
@thewatersphotos Thanks Gary.
January 17th, 2021
Hopefully it won’t be too much longer until we can get back to our coffee shop meet-ups with friends once again! Beautiful church next door!
January 17th, 2021
I'm sure Brew would be the kind of cafe that would be very busy in normal times. Nice shot of today's kind of normal street scene.
January 17th, 2021
Queueing outside shops is a feature of the High Street these days
January 17th, 2021
Lovely street scene. Unfortunately this is our new normal.
January 17th, 2021
When we are walking at the beach there are maybe 5 others on the beach beside the three of us so very easy to stay apart.
January 17th, 2021
Lovely city scene and capture. The chapel turned restaurant reminds of a holiday we had in Scotland some years ago when we lodged for 3 nights across the road to Lock Lommond - and it was an amazing sight waking up early in the morning and looking out at the lock from behind our room. On the first evening there we went in pitch darkness to have dinner at a restaurant close by which happened to be also a chapel turned restaurant. I remember the experience because it was very strange for us eating there with no one else except us and with the altar still in place,
January 17th, 2021
Come on Pat, you've got to give Harry something wonderful to replace that perfectly tidy workshop of his..... only a shed indeed!

Lovely shot of what looks like almost normal life.
January 17th, 2021
Nice shot of the coffee shop and restaurant - they look inviting, can't wait until we can visit these places and sit for a meal too!
January 17th, 2021
Such an inviting coffee shop.Really too bad you are not allowed to sit down for a visit. That restaurant beside it looks so elegant!
January 17th, 2021
@jantan Well you are right of course Jan....he doesn’t want to slum it in the shed but the way we’re going on here it could cost up to £20000.....what with the base, size of it & roller doors... we are waiting for estimates in different quality of wood. We could rent it out for air b&b! 😳
January 17th, 2021
@sangwann That would be very surreal indeed...you can perhaps forget it’s origins if it’s busy & buzzing with diners but to be on your own....you would feel like you should whisper!
January 17th, 2021
@lyndamcg Me too Lynda...back to normal life!
January 17th, 2021
@farmreporter It looked very welcoming, glad it was doing good trade!
January 17th, 2021
@happypat £20,000 ?!?!?!? Blimey! Second thoughts, get him down to B&Q!
January 17th, 2021
Lovely scene
January 18th, 2021
@jantan He he Harry likes the best but he even thinks that’s too much, will know better when estimates come. His shed is very important part of his life...we shall see! Watch this space!
