Covering up! by happypat

Covering up!

They have started putting the felt on the roof today. All the old horrid tiles off the original end. They haven’t taken all the tiles off the front left hand side just yet as they want a covered area to keep some if it waterproof for the supplies they have inside still.
You can see where the bifold doors are going...the right hand side with the red support in the middle. Three panes of glass either side which will fold back concertina fashion leaving a large opening into the garden.

Three good things:
1. Connie & I went up Beacon Fell but the rain was chucking down & thunder & lightening.....we came down from hills & had a bit better walk lower down....still raining though! Connie’s dog walker has broken a bone in her hand so it’s all hands on deck.
2. We were quoted an extra £5000 for the roof slates..... the quote was for tiles. Our builder sent us off to,look at a new roof using modern tiles & thankfully we liked them.....that £5000 will tarmac the drive! Another GT is that the original tiles have a 16 week wait time whereas the ones we’ve picked will be here on Friday!
3. The smell of wild garlic!
Looking great.. Good news on the roof saving.. usually goes the other way so bonus..

@judithg The funny part is we bought it for the long garden but at the moment we’re thinking perhaps it’s too big....Harry will be mowing it soon & he’s still in pain...

@happypat when do you hear back from the x-ray? Has he got a ride on? There’s always a robot....

So many things to be considered. 🥰

Nice clear focus on the builders! You get a more accurate idea of size with them in it too!

Must be exciting to watch the progress
May 11th, 2021
Wow yuou won't know yourself when you move back in here.
May 11th, 2021
So fascinating watching the progress. We don’t do roof tiles where I am, will be curious to see the process!
May 11th, 2021
Getting closer...
May 11th, 2021

@judithg I went into the surgery yesterday Judith to ask if the results where back.....he has to ring in himself....she wouldn’t tell me anything! Patient confidentiality gone mad! She did say not in the file yet which I took to mean no result yet! He’s hasn’t a ride on at the moment, he’s had one before but he likes walking behind...might come to that yet which is fine.

@maggiemae Very true maggie....

@julzmaioro We were relieved I can tell you......it’s just the look of grey slates we wanted & We thought clay tiles would be red ....not so!

@bkbinthecity @busylady @beryl @kwind @casablanca @gijsje @Dawn @sarah19 @joansmor @onewing @bkp @thewatersphotos @jamibann

Thank you all.....we are so pleased with everything & how its going! The builders....just two of them are amazing! Phil even does a bit of a detour to drop our mail off on the way home!
Always so cheerful too....😀

Oh how lovely to have caring people doing the work and dropping off the mail 😊
May 11th, 2021
@happypat patient confidentiality gone mad indeed. Have you got Power of Attorneys set up? Much easier and less expensive to do when everybody is fit and of sound mind. There are finance and health ones & both become very useful!
May 11th, 2021
That’s quite a project. We did the opposite to you and bought a new build 😂. It will be wonderful when it’s finished.
May 11th, 2021
It looks wonderful, glad to read your narrative! Anxious for Harry to get some relief.
May 11th, 2021
Oh they ran out of bricks so they BUNG-A-LOW roof on it.
May 11th, 2021
