They have taken some of the pews out on the right hand side to make room for various church events....seems to be the way now...church is much more relaxed & informal I believe.
The brown paper bags you can see on the table were all labelled with the age group & called Messy Church. I think any child could take away a bag in their age group.
We noticed the church smelt really lovely, a very subtle scent & there was music playing quietly.
The last of the church shots!!
Three good things:
1. Meet up with the plumber first thing & I've been to have a first look at tiles.
2. I took the door knocker to the firm making the windows & doors. He said two to three weeks for the windows!
3. A chocolate eclair!
Ooh I know they seem to do this these days - but I still like to see a Church or Chapel with the pews - makes it look more comfortable and safe - and I suppose its the familiarity of it all . Not had a very good day from the start , welcoming 2 strange men upstairs while still in my dressing gown !! Gary to Dr - for dressings on his legs -cellulitis , Shopping , finding a rat under the bird table scoffing all the spilt seeds , phoning a pest control man - Never had rats when I had terriers ! -- exhausted ! * glad to have that off my chest ! ha !
Beautiful old architecture. It looks so different than expected with the missing pews. But I like that they've made room for community activity. The atmosphere is so welcoming and inclusive. And I love that it had such a wonderful fragrance...not musty and dusty. It must be a delightful congregation at St. Lawrence.
