Crown Green Bowls

Harry bowing day on a Tuesday. He said last week he wouldn’t play because of his hip but of course couldn’t resist it when he got there!
He’s walking badly again tonight!!
Jack went & watched for a while & he took this photo.

Three good things:
1. I sat in the garden for a bit & read my book, nearly at the end of it….wish the woman in it would buck up & keep sober!
2. Harry can hear again after another trip to the hearing guy!
3. Sherpa Connie has climbed Helvellyn!

@julzmaioro No we do t tend to wear much uniform here unless it’s at really top level Julz. Might run to a team polo shirt! I have always noticed your teams in full whites when I have driven past Morrinsville bowling green…serious stuff!

@happypat as mad as my hubby - he is 66 with two replacement knees and is still playing football! I've got the wheelchair ready lol! 🤣

@lyndamcg They just can’t stop can they…Harry is having his hip done on the 8th July but he still walks too much at the moment…I know tomorrow he will be in agony walking plus tonight he will be tossing & turning all night!

Proper bowling not the easy flat stuff they do down here! Well done Connie and Cathy and Garth presumably! I’ve never been up Helvellyn - maybe if I get my back sorted I should do it before it’s too late!!

Everyone looks so happy. There are plans for Helvellyn when we’re up that way in August. I think I’ll look after the dogs that day instead. What are you reading?

I think Harry would be best just sitting and watching for a while. He would be forcing himself to do a proper bowl and that might not be the best thing! Looks a lovely summer's day!

@happypat Oh, boy, I read that book a while back. I actually loved it, but it's a tough read, and yes I spent a lot of time wishing the woman would get a grip and sober up! Nice image of Harry doing his thing ... let's hope he's done his hip no harm!
