Getting my act together at last! by happypat

Getting my act together at last!

Decided this morning I was going to make a proper Sunday lunch, the first one since we moved out of the farmhouse last October.
We have been eating OK but a proper Sunday roast has not been on the menu!
We have chicken & roast potatoes in the oven & broccoli, peas & Yorkshire Pudding.
I bought this Greek basil plant, loved the smaller leaves!

Three good things:
1. We have an evening wedding invitation for next year.
2. I slept all last night!
3. A chance meeting in Booths.
Nicely captured.I love my Sunday roast

A proper roast! My mum’s family were from England and we often had a hot roast on a Sunday after church. That meant Sunday dinner (tea) was often eggs or beans on toast.

All sounds lovely and makes sense to have it in the middle if the day.. unlike @dide family we did not carry on that tradition..
Happy to go with the gin at lunch time though..

@julzmaioro We had this tonight Julz….always have our main meal in the evening these days then we can do things in the day. Should have called it dinner!

@dide actually you’re right Dianne, Sunday dinner was always in the middle of the day….I had forgotten that. After church a proper family dinner with radio two playing Family Favourites.

Lovely composition. I haven't had a Sunday roast for years, we don't tend to eat roasts these days.

Funny - I made a roast too along with all the others on this site! I even took a photo of it- had to have yorkshire pudding!

Your comment about Sunday roast being midday after church and listening to Family Favourites - my upbringing also included church and a Sunday roast and i couldn't wait to listen to "Listeners Request"
