I met up with my cinema friend Dot this lunchtime.
We hadn’t see each other since last October so we had lots to catch up on.
She has been to Australia to see her daughter in Melbourne, that was a marathon job being able to visit as it’s so hard to be allowed in. Her daughter has had a double mastectomy so she got in on compassionate grounds.
Poor Dot has had such a hard few years…she is Charlie’s grandmother for those of you that know that story.
Anyway we sat in the cafe from 12 noon until 3.30pm….lovely afternoon!
Three good things:
1. The cafe didn’t throw us out we sat so long!
2. Prawn sandwich, chocolate cake, coffee & a G&T.
3. I walked there & back!
What a lovely catch up with your friend! She has had such a hard time. So pleased for her that she could be with her daughter- so hard to live so far away!
How nice that you could meet up. I’ll bet there was lots of laughs and a few tears as you caught up with news. Friends are so important and it’s a lovely photo of you both.
Both with scarves and warm clothes but wreathed in smiles - no mask here! How nice to be able to walk there. It would take about 3/4 hour to walk to our nearest cafe!
Some friends are so special......and I'm sure Dot really appreciated the afternoon as much as you did. That's been a tough journey but glad she was able to go to Melbourne!
Dot's trip to Australia does sound very difficult
