Before we set off for home we all went for a walk up above Hawkshead.
This place is called Dolly’s Community Orchard. Planted in 2019 with local & heritage fruit trees where you can pick the fruit in the summer.
I will post the info about Dolly’s field in my extra album.
There is a new hedge planted all round which should really growing in the next few years.
Three good things:
1. People doing good things for the community.
2. We had a ride out to Lytham this afternoon…it was really busy.
3. A long talk to the two youngest grandsons last night. We did a video call & we saw all the animals & vege garden etc ….it certainly is very dry in New Zealand.
Wasn't Connie invited for the photo shoot !! look at her looking on from afar !! ha !! So lovely to be able to go for walks in all that open spaces ! fav
@beryl Connie was doing her own thing running all over the place sniffing everywhere Beryl. She was also waiting fir us to keep moving…she gets impatient if we stop.
What a great idea to have a community orchard. I used to volunteer at a community garden and there was an orchard which was for the volunteer's use, but not for the community
Wonderful family shot! And I see Connie posing in the far background in Dolly's Orchard. I love the concept of community gardens. A wonderful way to preserve greenspace and serve the community.
Sounds like a fun conversation and farm tour with Max and Finn. I'm certain they've grown like weeds. Technology makes it almost like being there, which is awesome!
