The telegraph post was covered with Ivy so three men, a trailer & a shredder turned up this morning to clear all that clinging Ivy.
Three good things:
1. We planted the shrubs I bought in the garden this morning. Did a lot of tidying up & planted out some bulbs plus the hyacinth bulbs that flowered at Christmas.
2. Walked to the pharmacy & chatted to a chap who was doing his drive with stone, apparently gravel grids are the thing to use, must remember that if we decide to gravel ours.
3. Some good programmes on TV tonight so I’m posting in good time!
Don't you just love watching workmen doing this sort of thing. There's certainly a lot of ivy on that telegraph pole. It must cause a problem otherwise they wouldn't go to the expense of removing it but I wonder what harm it does.
Ha !! always the case - 3 men for a simple job -- 2 could have sufficed in view of safety !!!!! Ivy is such a nuisance - choking trees etc , but must cause other damage to a telegraph pole ! Glad to hear you succeeded in planting out plants and bulbs. Not a bad today but we had a real downpour in the night !
Poor guy up the pole is doing all the work .. other two looks like they are having a gossip.. Garden's will look nice all planted.. hopefully you have gone with an easy care option.
@julzmaioro Just shrubs Julz… buying shrubs that are in bloom at various time of the year. Next ones will be spring flowering then some summer ones. I did actually quite enjoy it today, it’s just thinking about it!
@louannwarren Oh dear pressure Lou An 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 mostly grass I’m hoping….just a bed on the left to plant up….the bottom will have a few more trees & the t right hand side more grass.
This garden was a mass of three year old brambles last year so it’s an on going problem…Harry will be there with his spray gun as soon as they poke their heads up!
I wonder how he got up there in the first place and how he is holding up to the pole. I think I would prefer to be the one with his hand in his pocket, haha.
I love the ivy-covered wall. It will only be a matter of time before it finds its way up the post again. Sounds like you had a busy day...you deserved an evening to put your feet up for a night of good television viewing.
Nothing much on television in Australia at the moment. It is summer here and all they put on every channel are repeats.

Glad you got your planting done. I shall book you for the Autumn to come and plant some bulbs for me! lol
