Another market shot as I haven’t taken a photo today.
I do t envy him packing all that stuff up, he was just beginning to load up when we came out of the cafe.
Three good things:
1. I have been reading my book lots today & have got three quarters the way through it.
Strange to read a book which one of the areas is around where we live & the place where I grew up a few miles from here, only a small place called Barton is featured in the book.
2. I had a walk this afternoon & bought some really delicious oat biscuits from the bakery.
3. We have our builder coming tomorrow…a few jobs to do!
I love open air market scenes , always so cheerful - and I wish to be there ! But I wouldn't like his job of packing up !!!
How lovely -- I always love to read a novel set in a familiar setting - adds so much interest !
@beryl is right that local stories add interest but they can be researched so easily now, that I have become easily frustrated when simple details are gotten wrong just due to not using google. A fairy tale, which was actually kind of good, was set in my hometown but had so much wrong they really just used the name. They had locals going to the hospital in the next town up the highway. They don’t have one, but we do. They had a 3 year high school with mascots called the Tigers, but ours is a 4 year school called the Warriors. But both were “Del Norte High School.”
I am sure they have a routine when packing up. I must put the market on my list of things to do this year!
I loved reading "Mist over Pendle" because I could relate to some of the places mentioned in the book.
@pandorasecho Very frustrating Dixie. My book is set in 1612 so very different setting but the place names are very familiar….I did just wonder if there was something in the story as there is a pub called after one if the stories & also road names too.

So relaxing!
Bought a hat at a market like this too! This brings back nice memories.
