I much prefer this colour version in spite of now also appreciating b&w since I did a whole album of it in May. A wonderful pov and composition. Would it be good to up the contrast a bit for the b&w shot, I wonder. I love this - fav!
It is tricky which one is my favorite. I saw the color first..and when you asked about b and w, I already figured the color would look better. I have noticed that when I b and w my shots, many of them lose their "depth." Because you cannot discern one thing from another in the b and w version...with no color cues. To me, that is true here too. But...you seem to have also cropped the b and w version a little closer to the end of the board, Which I think is effective. At least, that is how they appear, side by side, in your "latest from all albums" grid. I like the b and w version for that reason..the board is more in our faces and we can see more detail in the board. but the depth is not as good. So I vote...COLOR!
Colour version for me, I don't think there is enough shades of grey/black in the B&W version, so for me it's not as interesting.....if you see what I mean.
@espyetta you are right Marybeth, I had completely forgotten I had cropped the b/w nor a bit.....I must say I prefer the colour option too! Thanks fir your opinion!
Guess which is my favourite !!!! as God created it --in colour . Without colour there was no green residue on the wooden planks - we see the grain, the rusty metal the variety of colours in the pebbles bringing out the textures ,even the sand is not bland and flat in colour . I rest my case -- colour is best .
I really liked the b&w, but then I saw the colour. Total winner for me! Love the perspective and the detail / textures on the wooden boards. Is that what you call a breakwater?
Very nice, but now I flip back and forth to decide which version I like best. I am going with the color on this one because in color you can pick up all the stone details which help to give it more depth
Great shot. Both are excellent. Love the angle this is taken at. You are really led into the picture. Both shots have good qualities, this one has a warmer feel to it but the b&w has more drama. I think of the two I prefer the b&w. I always seem to go for dramatic shots.
Thank you all for taking the time & trouble to let me know which you prefer, I am a colour person myself so I agree with the colour voters!
Lovely to,talk to you this morning Judith!
