We shared a very large bowl of pea, broccoli & ham soup & a toasted tea cake in front of this lovely fire.
We sat in the far corner right next to the fire!
Just the place to be on such a miserable day as today ! So cosy looking in a mono tonal colours with a pop of bright colours in the painting on the wall -- looks like an acrylic painting on canvas ! And that lovely fire with its flames leaping about ! A lovely shot Pat !
@beryl The old range was lovely Beryl.....we had one of these in our old kitchen at the other farm but my MIL had it taken out.......she put a horrible tiled thing in its place. I suppose that was the style to follow in those days..
I can see that fire is set in the wall like a range now. Good for them to have a fire in it - it would draw the customers in. That painting is not quite straight on the wall - I do seem to notice these things nowadays - comes from living with a perfectionist in such things!
@maggiemae Just read your comment and that picture is screaming at you isn't it !! I am like that poking pictures to get them straight on the wall ! But to be fair it may be a bit of an optical illusion as the walls in these old paces were not always plumb !!
we all like a nice cosy spot to lunch Pat, nice use of DOF , the lady sets the scene and not being in focus allows us to bypass her and go into the interesting bit of the shot, nicely composed
@maggiemae@beryl I noticed it in the cafe too but didn't like to straighten it plus although Harry sat underneath it was quite hard to get to. Things like that annoy me too!
