Kokopelli by harbie

Kokopelli

This is a photo of the Kokopelli or Native American flute player. They represent the spirit of music (also god of fertility and agriculture) and are painted on a piece of Southwestern Native American Pottery that I have. I collect pottery pieces from the different Native American Pueblos. Best on black. Thank you for your kind comments for both "50's Sadie's Dance Here We Come!" and for "Leggolos." I have been having a hard time keeping up in the last week but am hoping to spend some time tomorrow catching up on viewing! I miss my viewing time!
Very nice piece, love the painting., would love to see your collection sometime!!

I agree that this is very nice on black. There is an ancient petroglyph of a kokopelli within walking distance of our house. I'm glad not many people are aware of it. In college, they told us this was a fertility figure.

@cejaanderson Thanks, Jane! When I was looking up more info about it, they said it was also the god of fertility and watches over agricultue and childbirth. How neat to have petroglyphs so close to your house! I love the Native American artwork and crafts.
