Little Blue Butterfly by harbie

Little Blue Butterfly

In the mountains, you see these little blue butterflies everywhere. They are very pretty and fast! I tried to find out their name and the closest one I could find was called the Behr's Hairstreak. Not certain this is one but it is very similar to it. Best on black! Thank you for your comments, views, and faves for my last two photos. Still catching up...!

I like it's texture and blue color! It's unfamiliar to me.

Unfamiliar to me, also. I checked my field guide but gave up. I like how your photo captures both the upper and underside patterns of this gorgeous creature. I just read last night that the upperside is usually more colorful and serves to attract other butterflies, and the underside is more dull and used as camo to hide from predators. Pretty neat system.
