For a Very Short While! by harbie

For a Very Short While!

I love the deer but I have to say I am mad at them right now! This fall I spent a lot of time planting tulip and daffodil bulbs all over my yard. The daffodils bloomed for a short time then were crushed by heavy snowfall. My tulips just started blooming and looked so pretty! The next day I went to look at them and about 30 blooms were snipped just below the flower. I think the deer had a feast! My daughter comforted me saying...."It's just the circle of life Mom!" I did not feel very comforted!! LOL! I can enjoy them through my photos at least. ;)!
Oh dear so short lived for you at least as you say you have the photos beautiful colour

Oh how annoying..... my sister has a squirrel that visits her garden which eats her tulips...... they obviously have a nice taste !! Like your daughters comment though.
Lovely shot.

Love the shot and the story! It reminds me of sipping a coffee in my friend Mo's garden. She was putting pansies in the border around the garden. As she planted her pet tortoise chomped the flowers off. Her husband and I struggled to stop laughing so as not to alert her. I wish I'd had a camera when she saw what had happened!

Lucky you thought to take the pictures. Such a shame the dear took a liking to the flowers as this one is beautiful.

Yes we all can Harbie! We have the same with our fruit trees, the birds and possums! I used to get upset, but what's the use! The image is perfect. You will always have that! Fav. 😃

Yes, tulips are a favorite delicacy for deer. They do avoid the daffodils, but you can't do much about the snowfalls!
