Chris, our Austrian Foreign Exchange student, having some fun on the rock sculptures outside of the Denver Convention Center. We were heading to the Holiday Fair. I think Chris had more fun outside! Thanks for viewing!!
I'm interested in your exchange student....... How old is he, and is he here for the entire school year? Is he your first student? Definitely looks like he's having fun!!
Once we got going with exchange students we couldn't stop..... Love the experiences!! Our first was a 10 year old Japanese girl who was with us for 11 months -- a 5th graderl Long story! Too young!! Then we got our started with high school students as our kids were in or just heading into high school. Between 1979 and the late 90s we had 39 different foreign exchange students -- 11 high school age, the rest college age here to go to language school, originally! Several stayed on to attend community college. When we were having the college kids we often had two and three at once. Several of the "kids", both high school and college, returned to us after getting more education at home. One of our high school students was with us for his 11th grade year and came back to get his Master's at San Diego State University and then an internship. That time he was with us for five years. (He is now head of the Economics Dept. at a prestigious university in Brazil -- and a post doctorate candidate!!) We've had high school and college students stay anywhere from a year to five years. Several have come back second and third times to study. Incredible experiences for them and for us. (We are still very close to several of our "kids" and their families)

Fantastic story, Anita. We 'only' had two exchange students: a Finnish girl for one high school year and a girl from Kenya. Our daughter was an exchange student in Finland.
