We were camping near The Spanish Peaks ( two 13eeners, 13,000+ ft peaks) this past weekend at Blue Lake Campground. We hadn't been to this area before. It was so beautiful! Northern Colorado ( at the higher elevations) had 1-2 ft of snow...very unusual. We went south. The nights were cold, but the days were beautiful. We were at 10,500 ft elevation. Would love to be out there enjoying some of that cool weather - loved summers in Colorado. Have a friend who teaches at the Univ. of Arkansas and she, her husband, and 4 year old leave the day classes end and head out there for the summers. She's one of those trail runners in the high elevations - and her pictures of all the snow on those trails have been awesome. They spend their summer living in the travel trailer.
