This little guy tries to sleep in the entrance to the house were I live. It is about 6 - 7 cm long and has the cutest little feet you can imagine. It was funny how it moved it's ear when the autofocus motor started to work. No wonder modern lenses have ultrasonic motors to adjust the focus.
If you look carefully you can see its eye how it is looking at you from behind its arm/wing.
I like its fluffy fur.
It could be a common pipistrelle, a Brandt's bat or a pipistrellus nathusii.
Awwww...! Thats gorgeous and a fab fab photo!
I love bats, used to live opposite a pond that had loads, and at dusk they would fly near your head but always just stop as they realised we were there. Wicked!!
I really hate bats. They used to get into a house we lived in. About one per month, until I figured out they were getting in through the heating vents, so I blocked them with screening. I became pretty expert at catching them.
I love bats! they eat mosquitos and other bugs for us. this is such a great closeup and this bat looks soooo cute peeking out. I had to fav this! great job.
I'm just captivated by his ugly-cute face...I can't decide which! I love the way he's quite aware of your presence...you seem to have connected. (We sat outside with friends at their house last night and were talking about the bats that keep the yard mosquito-free.) Thanks for bringing us a seldom-photographed little animal...
oh i adore bats ..as a child i was bitten by a bat in a cave my family and i was exploring ... came up in a big ugly rash lol but ever since them i am a huge fan of them . ur lucky to get so close , nice shot
