I was kinda wandering our labs today looking for something to fit the technology theme to catch my eye. This isn't really good for that theme, but this box of little glass pipettes really caught my eye for the cool repetition of it. I pulled one out a bit to single it out, focused on it and snapped this shot. I upped the contrast a lot and added some vignetting in photoshop.
There's something about this image that I really like! The repiticious pattern with the one standout just makes a nice photo...good for you for spotting it and photographing it so successfully!
Hi Steve - re comment - alas, I have tried...my partner got his IT guy from work to look at it and he couldnt restore them. we were able to retrieve pics but they were all the crap ones I didnt want and all the Europe ones were JPG files which for some reason couldn't be opened and were kinda corrupted....I've been so upset and someone told me the other day that the longer you leave it the worse it is, even if you aren't using the PC...sniff.... ):
Thanks for the note about the Vatican visit. Our traveling companions have done this a couple of times and say they love the "joyousness" of it all. As I understand it, every Wed the Pope will greet an large audience from around the world who'd like to see him. The names of the groups are announced and there's a lot of clapping or singing when they're recognized. They say it's not a somber event by any means, so I'm excited to see for myself! We're in the process of making our plans ahead where we need to...
Love the selective DOF on this image... great pp too... I think it is technical, mass production, science... ect... at least as technical as a hammer, which was a HUGE tech in its day...
I like the colours and the singled out pipette especially. The colours brought into my mind a picture of bubbles I took last winter. The bubbles are not so regular in form, though. http://365project.org/annelis/365/2010-01-16
Thanks for your comment yesterday and every day. I really appreciate everyone who takes the time to view and comment on my photos regularly.
