I got some nice shots of the ferris wheel at the music festival in town last night, in the end I couldn't decide which of these two I liked more so you get them both!
I dropped my aperature down to 22, and set my ISO to 100 but there was so much other light from the festival that it still wanted an exposure of just 5 seconds, which wasn't really enough for the blurring I wanted. I then slapped my polorization filter on which takes a stop or two of light, and I was able to get the shots I wanted. The left exposure was 10 seconds, and the right was 20 seconds.
Great shots, I like the one on the left also. I have done this in the past with a film slr anf telephoto lens, fewer seconds must be the d/slr's are more light sensitive, I am really getting anxious to get one.
@harvey Okay....that helps alot. does circ. polarization vs. linear polarization affect anything of that sort?...... i ask because I'm trying to get into longer exp. like traffic and whatnot
I really like them both. I think the one on the right stands out more because of the solid colour and that's the one I'm most drawn to, but the other one has that cool spiral pattern which looks great. In short, nice job.
Next time I'm near a ferris wheel I'm going to try something similar :)
seriously, excellent work.
