Street Creds by harvey

Street Creds

I popped out of my apartment for just a half hour today just as it was getting dark. I had a go at some of the tips I read in an article about street photography.

So I found a little fountain and sat down, pointed my camera up and got some shots. I really like the result for this shot, its different for me, I dont know if its too cluttered, but there is certainly alot to look at in the shot.

I like the church in the background which puts us in the setting, and the people walking by a little blurry add a sense of action to the shot, and I really like the litle boy playing with the wind chime at the christmas booth.

Also I just learned about the apacity of layers in photoshop, so I played with that a bit too, as I left a tiny bit of color in the shot so that you can still see a bit of the reds and greens in the christmas booth.

Its been in several discussions on this site, but anyways the article I was talking about is http://www.digital-photography-school.com/getting-close-and-personal-11-tips-for-close-up-candid-street-photography
Oh Yes! Totally excellent! For a first go, this is great Steve. All the things you mention add up to some super atmosphere.

You did a great job! I also read that article and want to give it a try. I guess I'll have to venture out into a crowd!

Really nice crisp and clear job on this--I like that you kept it on the B&W side too.

Great job! Tried a bit of street photography also but wasn't able to catch as much on it as you did! Love how this tells a story, wonderful!

Like the black and white.

Like the central light and the darker surrounds. Makes it a compulsive picture to look at.
