Yesterday was the Karlsfest in town. It was a small festival celebrating the life of Aachen's beloved Charlemange. The choir hall of the cathedral was open to visitors as well, as it is normally closed unless you are on a tour of the cathedral. It was a nice opportunity to capture the inside of this wonderful part of the cathedral.
I have framed it showing the end of Charlemanges golden casket, which sits on a pedestal in the choir hall. I also made it a panorama going up to the vaulting to emphasise the size of the choir hall.
This is amazing, the shot is great and when you think about how many hours must have gone into the making of all this beautiful glass it is a little mindblowing. Thank you for sharing this site with us in such a wonderful photograph.
Wow, that is impressive! I love your composition...you did a great job of showcasing so much detail into a single image. Unbelieveable workmanship in all that stained glass.
