Caution Science Within by harvey

Caution Science Within

Again I was feeling uninspired yesterday. I didn't take any shots on my way in to work. These sample boxes were on my desk with my tweezers and I thought it looked kinda cool so I snapped this shot.

Caution science jargon: on the top are thin films made by pulsed laser deposition, which were used in a crystallization study. In the middle are my babies, the great high quality samples for SIMS analysis which are ceramic pellets which have been coated with thin films for impurity cation diffusion. On the bottom are ceramic pellets which will eventually end up in the middle box for SIMS analysis.

After work I watched the super bowl with my friends from work, it was fun introducing most of them to the game, and it was an exciting game as well. A good night was had by all.
Interesting shot! Love the angle the boxes are at.

I do not have the intellect for science but it fascinates me. I know some people would rush right past this picture but I think it's an interesting glimpse into the work you do. Many people think that you do not have to be creative to be scientific, but I find the opposite to be true. My nephew is also a scientist and he is one of the most creative people I know. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your work.

Okay, it's been a long time since chemistry class--I'm curious, what are you doing this research for?

I have no idea what you are talking about but it's always nice to get a glimpse into someone elses day, especially when it's so different from your own.

I love all your photos. The science geek in me really likes this one!
