I was home early today as I had started the day with an early early meeting and worked through. The weather was beautiful when I got home at about 3:30, and still showing as 18°C on the car thermometer, so I wandered down the garden.
The garden was alive with insects. The bees were bringing in large amounts of bright yellow pollen. Several large queen bumble bees were patrolling the ground looking for nesting sites and Sam found lots of Ladybirds on this tree which he watched for ages, and took a great delight in showing us.
