Doodle a day #117: Storm Hannah blew a tree down onto my car today.
We were lucky in that although it fell onto the car, it was partly supported by the fence and a wheely bin, and the roots had not given way completely, providing a small amount of support. Jan and I managed to lever it up enough to put some wooden supports under it, and then get the car out and move it out of the way.
The car fared remarkably well. There are scratches on the roof and driver side, but no dents and no real damage. They might even polish out.
The tree fared less well. After extracting the bin we removed a couple of branches that were going to damage the fence. It later fell completely to the ground. Tomorrow we will be cutting it up and moving it out of the way.
