Today was my husbands birthday. But it was also one of those days that doesn't lend itself to photography...unless you think a picture of an ice dam is art! But my husband came home from work mentioning an article a coworker had told him about. It was about a matchmaker in Ireland with the name Daly and she wondered if my husband was a long lost cousin.
Now we have no idea about that, but the story did ring some bells. We had stopped at a place named Daly's out in the West of Ireland in County Clare for a drink when we were on our Epic Family Trip back n 2013. (I shared another fine photo from that day when I was taking my mental vacation last summer...) http://365project.org/hbdaly/365/2014-07-09 David did a little research and it turns out we were at the very same Daly's of Willie Daly fame! Apparently he doesn't own it anymore - and obviously we were not in need of his services - but it was pretty cool nonetheless. And I do wonder if he could be that long lost cousin....
I didn't even realize until I was going back through my pictures tonight that I had a picture with his name right on it! Not to mention a lovely flare. :-)
Now THAT's Fun! What a coincidence that you had that picture in your stash! Your hubby must have gotten a kick out of that pairing on his birthday! My best to him...I'm sure he was surrounded with lots of Little Daly love!
Neat shot! That's what is so great about photography--on an uninspired day, you could look back at your photos, find the one you wanted and relive your trip.
