Spring finally feels like it has sprung here - although everything is still a little drab and bleak looking. I am greatly looking forward to the return of color with the grass and the flowers - and the birds! I knew some varieties of bird had winter coats, which tend to be a muted variation of their usual color, but I didn't think about it much until I saw this Goldfinch today. Obviously he is wasting no time getting back to his bright and beautiful warm-weather self! I am very happy to see it - even if he hasn't got it all put together just yet... :-)
