An evening spent at the library while my youngest had his Cub Scout meeting in the craft room. I dared to venture out of the children's room and headed to the back where they keep the big books - the ones I'm always meaning to read... This sculpture of a giraffe sits in front of the back windows and I decided, for once, to take a closer look. This picture doesn't do it justice - it is pretty much life size, for a young giraffe anyway. And it has these wonderful long metal eyelashes that my picture completely fails to capture - even though that was exactly my plan when I stopped to get a shot. Ah well - I guess I'll never make it as a wildlife photographer, or a non-moving sculpture photographer for that matter.... :-}
I get supremely frustrated when trying to take photos like this because, no matter how hard I try, there is always something distracting in the background. I'm sorry not to see the eyelashes, but the ear is pretty cool.
