Richard and I enjoyed a rare day off together today. We took ourselves off to the very pretty village of Falkland and visited Falkland Palace. You may remember I photographed the exterior early in my project - 20/01/12. This is a view of the lily ponds and the doorway on the upper right of the photo leads to the tennis court - a rather different game than we are used to today! The gardens were lovely with a stunning picnic area. I was disappointed to discover - apparently there was a sign at the entrance - to discover that you are not allowed to take photographs inside the Palace - something to do with security and conservation of the many beautiful tapestries that were hanging. If you are ever up for a visit I would highly recommend 'The Lomond Tavern' for a bite to eat. Humungous portions of wonderful food and very reasonably priced.
sounds like you had a wonderful day:)
