reflected willow

There really isn't any competition for subject matter when the sun is on the river at 8.30 am in the morning. I am trying lots of other options and some nearly make the cut, but the reflections are absolutely gorgeous.

For a change from bridges today (although I am bound to return to these later as they deliver a feast of abstraction), I thought I would give this reflected willow tree an airing.

Thank you all for your constant encouragement - when things get tough, there is always someone ready with a bit of sympathy, a shared experience or a comment to boost confidence. I'm up for criticism too - all helps to move the photography forward.

Oh, I did reflections today as well. I love impressions of greenery reflected in ripples. Wonderful shot. I agree, the encouragement here is so heartening. Fav!

That's such an interesting shot. I've studied it at length and cant see where the tree stops and the reflection starts! It's the perfect picture for a dentist waiting room! Would keep the nervous patients occupied for hours! It's great!

@janemartin that is intriguing in itself Jane. It is 100% reflection. I have rotated by 180 which was a bit experimental. I chopped off the river bank .. I guess you would have had no struggle at all if I had left those two things. Thanks for your feedback.

@taffy I'm a bit of a fan of the impressionists - perhaps that is why these reflections are attracting me so much.

@flowerfairyann I quite agree Ann, all the best photos are down by the river when the sun is out.
