Does this fabric work for me? by helenhall

Does this fabric work for me?

I have been taking variations of this shot most days this week, trying to get the POV right for the message. (This one is from yesterday) Finally it is time to get it out of my system. Getting the six words right has proved as difficult as the image. I think it tells a story, but will let you be the judge of that.

What a great spot Helen. She really does seem to be asking the question. Fits the challenge perfectly too.

Perfect and well spotted. Love the selective colouring too.

Helen, you have such talent for spotting unique and thought provoking scenes such as this one. Wonderful pov and composition! I think this photo definitely tells a story and fits the challenge. Well done! :-)

This is great. Super comp. Actually I think her dress would look way better in the other pattern

That's an interesting pattern on the building Helen.

I just love the composition of this, and the patterns on the dress in the advertisement and on the wall on the upper left. I often go back and re-photograph the same thing to see if I can make something different out of it. I think you have a great eye to have seen this. Fav for me.

@kerosene @paulavdmerwe @janemartin glad you like the composition - I spent an age trying from different angles and nearly ditched the idea. Thank you for your comments.

@helenm2016 thanks for taking a look Helen and for your comment. I really didn't like the cladding on the building when I first saw it, but now I quite enjoy it. I think it would work on the dress too!

@jeetee it is quite an unusual cladding. Shopping arcade built by the Borough along side a few blocks of flats. I cant find out when - which is annoying but guess in the 70s.

@tristansmum My first few attempts were trying to juxtapose the cladding with a church tower that stands in the background but this wouldn't work. Then I saw the advert and found it surprisingly difficult to get even this. Thank you for taking the time and trouble (as always) to look and encourage.

It does tell a story -- fabric is key to the contrast of dress and building. Nicely composed!
