After yesterday's post I felt something a little more serene was in order.
This water lily was a surprise find this morning as most on the river are yellow short stumpy flowers.
The water lily - I read - symbolised the unity of upper and lower Eygpt.in ancient times. And so it here represents my hope for unity between North and South in Britain, between privileged and struggling, between young and old, between those who judge and those who are judged, between races, between UK and Europe between Europe and the rest of the world. We live with so many divides but have so much in common.
Nearby, I was able to check on the young cygnet. Mum is sitting on the remaining egg again, little one doing fine, and Dad pacing up and down the river as if to ward off any danger.
PS I have discovered radial blur in photoshop. Little by little I am increasing my editing options.
Excellent choice of processing. For me it adds a dynamic feel, adding weight to the symbolic meaning. The symbolism of water lilies varies among cultures, including enlightenment and rebirth.
Graceful soft image. I agree about unity. Britain has to stand shoulder to shoulder (we have done it before) to get this 'mess' sorted out. Beautiful photo. Big FAV!
