The weekend saw us in Cheshire visiting Dad. I have spent year after year of frequent visiting but never being able to get further than the local shops due to circumstances surrounding Mum.
So although visits are tinged with sadness as Mum is no longer with us, it is exciting now, to be able to rediscover the places of my childhood.
Dad used to take us regularly to Moel Famau across the welsh border to stretch our legs and this was the trip that we took again on Saturday. This time, my husband and I took, Dad, my younger son and his girlfriend. It was a visit much enjoyed by all. Visibility was not good, but the weather improved as we climbed and we were able to appreciate a flavour of the 360 degree panoramic view at the top.
As it is square September, I challenged my self to squeeze some of the character of the landscape into squares. It is an interesting exercise - I found that some of the scenes most definitely needed a more rectangular frame.
So wonderful that you were able to visit a favorite place from your childhood and share the experience with your family. Excellent capture of such a beautiful countryside. :-)
Beautiful scenery Helen... great you were able to get back to a place from your childhood and actually get around and enjoyed it. I'm sure your lovely Mum was with you, too.
