Yesterday took me to London to visit my son who moved to the city a week ago to start his first 'proper' job after graduating in the Summer.
I walked many hours - covering many and various destinations, including the Wallace Collection, Edgware Road for Lebanese fare, Hyde park and the Serpentine Gallery. Fitbit was ecstatic! But all in all, it was a very strange day for me, and tinged with sadness.
Whilst in theory, I had plenty of opportunity for photography, in practice most of my walking was either carrying heavy bags or being talked at, which made things difficult. I did, however take the opportunity upon arriving at St Pancras far too early to be bothering my son or even more so my brother and his partner, of exploring the environs around the station. I discovered the Francis Crick Institute - the roof line of which is visible when disembarking the train from Bedford and walking along the platform, and about which I have been curious. Turns out, this is a world-leading centre of biomedical research and innovation. So now I know.
Nicely angled to see the colour in the top glass. Sad I suppose - that your son has left. It happens in life and is far better than him wanting to live with you for ever!
@gaylewood How odd that you recognised it as mine. I consider myself to have a style that is all over the place! But I guess I do take a lot that show just a detail rather than an overall scene or object. Thank you Gayle. You are a great contributor and encourager.
