I know it is out of focus but it is my advent shot for today, so skip by, no problem.
"Christmas is coming, the goose is getting fat, please put a penny in the old mans hat." In the middle ages, the poor would eat goose for Christmas dinner and they might have to sing 'carols' in order to raise the necessary cash to buy the goose. Carols started off as pagan songs to be sung and danced to at the Winter Solstace. Carol singing in churches is only a recent development, and the word carol means a dance or a song of praise and joy!
(Im not dancing with joy at the cost of my Christmas meat this year!!!)
