Taste Bedford jazz

Without question, we should have been attending to the room full of flat pack furniture that was delivered a couple of weeks ago. With a clear afternoon and evening, it would have been the sensible thing to do.

Only, we wandered over to the bandstand in town to see what was what at the Food and Music festival. It would have been rude not to, since we discovered that the whole event was being organised by our next door neighbour. Lots of food outlets, cookery demonstrations, live bands, and a sunny summer afternoon. The remainder of the day proceeded to demand our unscheduled attention (in a not so relaxed or pleasant way) and another diversion from the DIY task.

I have often looked for a good way to photograph our bandstand. No better time than on one of the few occasions when it is actually in use. So as the band of the moment was jazz, I have jazzed up the effects a little on this snapshot of Bedford at its most relaxed.

Hope your weekend too is sunny and relaxed.
How relaxing. There is something so British about deckchairs and a bandstand concert.

Sometimes boring jobs just has have wait.. there will be many rainy days in which to do the indoor jobs but the sunny days seem to be in short supply.. relaxing and having fun seems a supremely sensible thing to do..
i like the processing for this image. it seems entirely in keeping with the mood for the evening.. love the whole presentation..

@onewing Isn't there just? What isn't so British is the lovely sunny Summer afternoon at the weekend!
@taffy my fear is that it will be waiting a long time! But as you say, it was inviting.

@adayinmallacoota It was certainly the more pleasant option
@ziggy77 Yes I agree.
