Rich pickings amongst the leaves

Everywhere I look in the park and along the grassy verge of the Embankment, there is a hive of activity as the squirrels search, and scurry, gathering the fallen harvest for their stores. It they sense movement around, they will pause and stop a second or two whilst assessing the situation, and then invariably make a charge for the nearest tree. I was trying to catch on in the back light this morning, but they were too quick for me.

Took far too many duds today. Hoping for a little more quality time with my camera before too long.
Great capture and I like the greyness of the squirrel and the background and the pop of chestnut colour in the nut.

What a big chestnut he is carrying. Great photo.

SC works well in this image -- the size of the nut (I thought at first it was a plum) compared to the squirrel is quite funny.

Brilliant. And in summer they run off with the soft fruits. They are a pest!
