Pylon aesthetics

I'm drawing from my February collection of black and whites to try examine the design elements at play for this week's focus of the flashofred challenge.

I chose this one, because it was taken to draw attention to lines, but shape, contrast and pattern also play their part and there is some perspective in play which I don't often achieve in my compositions.

Such majestic man made structures.

How impressive a power line can be... These are the contemporary giants that Don Quijote pursued ;)

Good job Helen- I think you're really developing the eye to see these things!

It does give an impression of height here too - with the angled lines!

Really nice angles, you chose such an effective PoV.

I, too, have found inspiration in pylons for the same reasons. This one really seems to embody 'power'.

Super choice for this week's focus! It is amazing how the most ordinary things can become extraordinary when viewed through the camera.

Thank you all so much. Where else, other than on 365 can you post a simple photograph of an electricity pylon and elicit so many positive and enthusiastic responses? I just love being here.
