It was 35 years ago when us Farmilo girls were all together in a house in Walthamstow. These were days without mobile phones, or internet. Days of survival on student grants and the full experience of communal living. Days in which we shared our innermost secrets, and learned to tolerate and understand our differences.
For the first time, after 35 years, we met together this weekend in Oxford.
We shared intimate memories, photographs and hand written letters to each other. We reminded each other of incidences - many humorous and some that perhaps we would rather not be reminded of.
We remember well, each others parents, brothers and sisters, boyfriends and old school friends and exchanged news and updates an just about everyone we could remember. It seemed that none of us had changed a bit.
We talked and walked our way round Oxford, and resolved to meet again.
35 years ago, we left no digital footprint and today, it seems, that I am the only one using any sort of social media. And so, out of respect, I must share our digital memories of this weekend - as we shared our own memories of all those years ago - just between ourselves. I hope I have shown enough, for you to get the picture.
Wonderful setting for a weekend reunion and a clever visual record Helen. With good friends, it doesn't matter how many years have gone by, you can just pick up and be yourselves.
It sounds like you enjoyed a fabulous visit...what a blessing for you all to get together again! And, as always, your amazing creativity shines forth in your photograph.
