Spent the day at this dear man's 90th birthday party - hosted by his daughter and family. He spoke of having milk delivered to the door in a churn - half pint or full pint scoops being transferred to a jug, about the local grocery store delivering for free to his mother, and then giving a gift each christmas for being a loyal customer, about being the only child in his school to pass the 11+ exam, and many other memories from many years ago. When he had had enough of the party, he jumped on his mobility scooter and raced along the road back home for a lie down.
I think I would like a party like that (the food was divine) when I am 90.
i recently went to friend Stan's 90th unfortunately it wasnt such a happy occasion as his wife had a fall the night before and broke her collarbone, and half the invited guests didnt come
!
I love this. I was at my parents' place in Calabria last weekend, as my father came 87 on July 8. Melancholically, not so lucid, and a shadow of what he used to be.
on my 90th birthday, i probably wouldn't know it. or i'd probably be six feet under for quite a long time. good for this man to still remember the good old days!
@summerfield Well I hope you are wrong and enjoy a very stylish 90th birthday - fitting to your uniqueness. But no need to be worrying about that just yet ..
