This North Norfolk coast is a site of special scientific interest and an area of European importance to wildlife. It is a wetland with salt marshes and reed beds, and freshwater lagoons. I think most of the wildlife was hiding from us - although with my three men - I am not surprised. We did see spoonbills though.
It was the zig zag sea defence here that invited me to capture this scene. I think it fits this week's theme in the 52 week challenge of 'eye lines' very well. I am imagining that you start with your eyes following the zig-zag, and then notice the parallel layers through to the horizon.
Actually, for me, the zig-zag took me across the frame, then the lines brought me back and forth yet again. Actually I think it was 5 times across......So lines and tonal range work so well.
