The Changing Seasons

Meandering along the river bank, I saw this leaf blowing around in the wind, hanging by the thread from a web and refusing to fall amongst the others. A poem started forming in my head ..

I thought I had better have another go at a gif - before forgetting how to do it. Experienced some serious distractions with the ducks moving around as well as the leaf, and my fix is crude. But I have had enough of giffing around for one night so here it is.

(I don't think the gif works on phones, just on a PC? maybe it depends on what software is available - who knows?)

As leaves fall
breathing their last in photosynthesis,
Graciously and without fight
they give way to a myriad of bright colours

And all delight in this Autumm display,
Until, before long, we trample upon the mass grave,
and lament the season gone.

Here and there a single one
hangs by a thread
dancing, leaping in the late sunshine
not wanting to let go.

Yet even that must fall
giving way to Winter
And we wait, and we wait
Until as we touch defeat, the first bud appears

All mourning now complete.
Great capture and poem !
