If these two look like they are walking off in disgust at being stared at and snapped at by a bunch of tourists, then that is very probably the case.
We were also feeling a little cheated. Our itinery boasted a visit to the "Namib Carnivore Conservation Centre where we can join biologists working on a cheetah conservation project." What we in fact got was entry into an enclosure where the Cheetahs were goaded for the sake of the visitors getting good pictures. They had had a lifetime of captivity and would never be released into the wild.
That's too bad- but I have a feeling that the money is what drives them, not concern for the animals. If you go to a preserve there's no guarantee you'll see anything. If you go to an enclosure where you keep animals for pictures your tourists go home happy and tell other people to visit you. It's still nice you got to see them, but I understand your discomfort with it.
