Stopped briefly and dismounted my bike in order to get a shot today before the rain set in. Although it was dull and grey, there was enough light on this heron who decided just seconds later that whilst it could tolerate one camera pointing at it, the arrival of a second was not acceptable. So then it was gone.
The pedestrian beside me captured a reasonable shot of the heron taking off, where as my settings were sufficient to produce little more than a blur.
Travelling tomorrow - will try to keep looking in. (maybe even catch up with you all if there is sufficient connectivity).
Such sharp, incredible focus...I love the details you captured! What a wonderful sighting! As always, I love your commentary...you have a great way with words!
