My plan was to collect some seasonal objects on a walk and show them off against the snow. The alarm was set, and I slept fitfully in anticipation of getting out early before the snow turned to slush.
Alas, there was no snow. Despite forecasts, when I looked out of the window it was just a continuation of the same grey skies and rain that has been in abundance all week.
Instead, I ventured out once the rain had stopped. Not exactly a walk, but more a squelsh and a splash. Plan B, to find a puddle to display my objects in didn't quite happen with the water being either an offputting khaki colour, or moving too fast. So plan C was born.
Plan C involved bringing all my objects home and using the bird bath to float them in for my flatlay. However, by the time I had nipped to the supermarket to collect my click and collect order, the light was failing badly on this already dull day and so plan C was also abandoned.
The tile on our hall floor then, with an angle poise lamp place precariously on the top of the radiator in order to give sufficient indoor light for the shot.
I also took one with my phone and was able to get a brighter image which I nearly posted, but after much deliberation, I returned to this duller version.
A second attempt for my Get Pushed challenge - to create a seasonal flat lay (preferably colourful). still struggling with the colourful aspect.
I think Plan D?? is the best choice of all of them! I love the way this looks like a chess board with a winter harvest atop it. I think it could also work nicely in black and white- so I'm faving it! Way to keep at it Helen!
As we're still in this lockdown situation, I have a Get Pushed challenge for you that you may, but don't have to, do inside your house: Can you take a shot of something floating/moving such as water, powder, honey, milk or glitter? I'm thinking of something like this: https://www.flickr.com/photos/28286225@N02/32657776843/
Your narrative made me smile as I have also had experiences like that
