Next on the list - a picture with shutter speed of 1/1000 second. This fitted the bill, with it being a moving object and it was heading towards me quite quickly - most probably in the hope of being fed.
You might want to try lowering the exposure compensation a bit if you have one on your camera? It helps to take a little bit of the whiteness away and reduce the glare.

@stevejacob Steve - I don't mind at all. I am open to any constructive criticism at any time. Yes I have exposure compensation on the camera. In fact, I find that it sometimes moves without my knowledge. I have so much to learn - but I think the course 'a year with my camera' is really going to help and I am loving the new camera.
