This walk on Harris was by far the most ambitious of our walks over our holiday. We set out on a 2 hr trail called the Postman's Trail. Hard to believe that the difficult coastal trail was the postman's route to deliver letters to Rhenigidale which was the last uk village to be reached by road in 1990.
The scenery was more than rewarding and it was here that we had a wonderful sighting of a Golden Eagle. Arriving at Rhenigdale we were faced with the decision of whether to return the way we came or take an 8 mile addition to create a circular walk. We chose the later and arrived back at 7pm (after a 10am start) absolutely exhausted!
(Back home now, so slowly catching up and back filling the days I wasn't able to post).
