Edith Garrud 1872-1971

Metal sculpture of suffragette at Finsbury Park train station, north London. Edith Garrud was apparently renowned for teaching martial arts to suffragettes to help them in their confrontations with the police. The statue stands alongside two other similar sculptures of music producer Jazzie B and health pioneer Florence Keen.
That transparency makes it very interesting in the photo.
