Looking out, looking in

A group of young tourists relax after a day of culture at the British Museum while two ?Japanese tourists look in
Tells the story and feeling of the moment. Love the order and patterns of the background buildings and fencing.

I agree with Karen, this shot tells a story. Well spotted. @karens54

Love this shot. I like how the gap in the seated figures is filled by the onlookers. Great street shot.

You said you are up for constructive criticism, so being very, very nit-picky I would have been tempted to straighten the picture so the seat & fence are completely horizontal. The picture has some lovely strong verticals and horizontals and I think this would enhance it. Did you try that and it not work out - sometimes I think squaring things up will help but it doesn't work out in practice!

@lizhammond Thanks Liz for all your comments. I really appreciate them including the suggestions. I did try straightening the horizontals but it caused the verticals of the main building on the left to become out of true. I opted to keep the building straight but perhaps the shot would have looked better with straight horizontals instead. I will have a play with the original and look again. It's all good learning!

Hi Helen, not surprised to hear that you tried and it hadn't worked out. I find it so tricky to sort out perspective in post. Would trust your eyes on it - the verticals in the picture are lovely would be a real shame to loose them. Thanks for appreciating the suggestion anyhow :-)

Nice shot Helen. I like the way they're all looking curiously in different directions. Many thanks for the follow by the way - much appreciated :)
