"The Audience"

Life-cast sculpture at Cartwright Hall Art Gallery, Bradford, by artist Becky Truman. It consists of two large panels of which this shows a small part.
We were in Bradford for a Hockney Day run by the local Arts Fund group. It included a talk about and viewing of the (relatively) new Hockney Gallery in this building, followed by a visit to the very impressive Salts Mill in Saltaire for a guided tour of the Hockney artworks there.
I think this looks rather unsettling. But an interesting artwork all the same.

Fabulous photo of a strange subject. it does rather remind me of the death masks they used to make years ago

@helenhall @mave @ilovelenses I do agree it's a bit unsettling. I think it's something to do with the texture and translucence of the wax
